Cacao Ceremonies
Ancient tradition. Modern intention.
Ceremonial cacao has been used for thousands of years by Indigenous cultures throughout Central and South America as part of sacred rituals, celebrations and community ceremonies. Today, many people choose ceremonial cacao as an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with themselves and set meaningful intentions for personal growth.
At The Kambo Clinic, we honour these traditions while combining ceremonial cacao with modern therapeutic and metaphysical techniques to create a carefully guided ceremonial experience.
Our signature Metaphysical Cacao Journey is designed to support subconscious transformation, identity shifts, belief recoding and manifesting by helping you align your beliefs, emotions, energy and identity with the future you want to create.

A Ceremony Created Around Your Intention
Every Metaphysical Cacao Journey is personally designed and guided by Claire Anstey.
Before your ceremony, you'll complete a detailed intention questionnaire, allowing Claire to understand what you'd like to invite into your life, what you'd like to let go of and where you'd like to grow.
Using your responses, Claire creates a bespoke guided journey written exclusively for you. No two ceremonies are ever the same because no two people arrive with the same story, intentions or aspirations.
Drawing on more than a decade of experience in subconscious transformation, Religious Science and metaphysical practices, Claire gently guides you through a personalised experience designed to help you reconnect with yourself, quiet the noise of everyday life and create space for meaningful inner change.
Alongside her therapeutic training, Claire brings more than fifteen years of experience as a television presenter and professional voice-over artist, using the power of language, storytelling and intentional guidance to create a deeply immersive ceremonial experience.
What Is Ceremonial Cacao?
Ceremonial cacao is pure cacao made from minimally processed cacao beans, preserving many of the naturally occurring compounds found within the cacao plant.
Unlike commercial hot chocolate, ceremonial cacao contains no refined sugars or unnecessary additives. It is traditionally prepared with hot water and enjoyed slowly as part of a mindful ceremonial practice.
For thousands of years, cacao has been valued not simply as a nourishing drink but as a sacred plant used during ceremonies, celebrations and important community gatherings.
Today, people around the world incorporate ceremonial cacao into meditation, journalling, breathwork and personal development practices as a way of slowing down and reconnecting with themselves.
What's Inside Ceremonial Cacao?
Ceremonial cacao is naturally rich in a variety of minerals and plant compounds.
It naturally contains:
• Magnesium, an essential mineral that contributes to normal muscle function, nervous system function and energy production.
• Iron, which contributes to the normal transport of oxygen around the body.
• Potassium, which supports normal muscle function.
• Naturally occurring flavonoids, powerful plant compounds that have been widely researched for their antioxidant properties.
• Theobromine, a naturally occurring compound that provides a gentle, sustained feeling of alertness without the sharp peaks often associated with coffee.
• Small amounts of caffeine.
Many people describe feeling calm, emotionally open, focused and present during a ceremonial cacao experience. Every person's experience is different.
At The Kambo Clinic, we see ceremonial cacao as creating a supportive environment for reflection, intention and inner exploration alongside your personalised guided journey.
The History of Ceremonial Cacao
Cacao has one of the longest recorded histories of ceremonial use in the world.
Evidence suggests it was first cultivated thousands of years ago before becoming deeply woven into the traditions of the Olmec, Maya and Aztec civilisations.
It was prepared for sacred ceremonies, important celebrations, marriages and community gatherings, where it symbolised connection, gratitude and abundance.
Although modern cacao ceremonies have evolved over time, they continue to centre around intention, presence and meaningful human connection.
What Does the Research Say?
Scientific research into ceremonial cacao is still developing.
Most studies have focused on cacao's nutritional composition and naturally occurring plant compounds rather than ceremonial practice itself.
Ceremonial cacao contains naturally occurring flavonoids, magnesium and theobromine, all of which continue to be researched for their potential role in supporting normal cardiovascular function, cognitive performance and overall wellbeing as part of a healthy lifestyle.
Many people also describe feeling calmer, more connected and emotionally open during a cacao ceremony. While these experiences are personal and cannot be guaranteed, ceremonial cacao is increasingly being used as part of mindfulness, meditation and personal development practices.
At The Kambo Clinic, cacao is offered as a traditional ceremonial practice designed to create space for reflection, intention and subconscious transformation.
What Does a Cacao Ceremony Feel Like?
Every person's experience is unique.
Most people describe feeling relaxed, grounded and more connected to themselves.
Some notice greater mental clarity.
Others experience a sense of gratitude, emotional openness or gentle self-reflection.
Unlike more intense ceremonial practices, ceremonial cacao is often experienced as subtle, comforting and nurturing.
It creates an opportunity to slow down, become present and reconnect with yourself before being guided through your personalised metaphysical journey.
Rather than trying to achieve a particular feeling, we simply invite you to arrive with an open mind, a clear intention and a willingness to explore whatever unfolds.
Preparing for Your Ceremony
Preparing well for your ceremony helps you arrive feeling calm, comfortable and fully present.
Eat Lightly
We recommend eating a light meal around three to four hours before your ceremony and avoiding large or heavy meals immediately beforehand.
Rapé contains Nicotiana rustica, a traditional ceremonial tobacco that is naturally high in nicotine. While some people assume it's best to fast completely, taking Rapé on a completely empty stomach may increase the likelihood of feeling light-headed or nauseous.
A light meal a few hours before your session, together with staying well hydrated throughout the day, is generally the most comfortable way to prepare. Although some people may experience temporary nausea or, more rarely, purge during the ceremony, arriving comfortably nourished and hydrated helps support a positive experience.
Avoid Alcohol and Recreational Drugs
Please avoid alcohol and recreational drugs for at least 24 hours before your appointment, as they may affect your experience and your ability to engage fully with the ceremony.
Reduce Caffeine
If possible, limit caffeine for a few hours before your session. Arriving in a calmer state can make it easier to settle into the ceremony and your guided journey.
Set Your Intention
Before your ceremony, you'll complete a short intention questionnaire. This helps Claire understand what you'd like to release, create or move towards.
Using your responses, Claire writes a bespoke guided script specifically for your ceremony, making every Metaphysical Rapé Journey unique.
Wear Comfortable Clothing
Choose comfortable clothing that allows you to relax. We recommend avoiding strong perfumes or fragrances and removing anything that may distract you from being fully present.
Arrive With An Open Mind
Every ceremony is different.
Some people experience deep stillness. Others gain clarity, emotional insight or simply enjoy an hour away from the noise of everyday life.
There is no right or wrong experience. The most important thing you can bring is curiosity, openness and a willingness to explore whatever unfolds.
Book Your Metaphysical Cacao Journey
Your journey begins before you arrive.
Once you've booked your ceremony, you'll receive a short intention questionnaire. Your responses allow Claire to understand what you want to release, create or move towards, enabling her to write a bespoke guided script specifically for your ceremony.
Whether your intention is confidence, abundance, healthier relationships, clarity, self-worth or stepping into a new identity, your guided journey is created exclusively for you.
Every session includes ceremonial cacao followed by your personalised metaphysical journey, combining Claire's expertise in subconscious transformation, Religious Science and metaphysical techniques with more than fifteen years of experience as a professional presenter and voice-over artist.
